Candelabra-like spikes of blue vervain. The flowers at the bottom of the spike bloom first, and the ring of flowers appears to advance upward to the tips of the spike. Glechoma, Creeping Charlie, ground ivy, gill-on-the-ground or Creeping Jenny it doesn't matter what you call it - it is difficult to control this invasive plant. The lavender flowers are pretty though.
